House Symbiosis Double Residency is an innovative architectural project designed to accommodate two sibling families, exemplifying a harmonious balance between communal living and individual privacy in contemporary residential architecture. This sophisticated double residency, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, represents a groundbreaking approach to multi-family dwelling through its distinctive L-shaped configuration and thoughtful spatial organization. The structure encompasses a total area of 700 square meters, featuring two equal-sized residences of 220 square meters each, complemented by an 85-square-meter communal core and an underground area of 185 square meters. The design's most striking feature is its sculptural ribbon-like geometry with double curvature elements that unfolds across the front inner facade, creating a dynamic visual impression of movement and floating between sky and sea. Drawing inspiration from yacht, aerospace, and automotive industries, the architecture employs sophisticated volumetric massing and facade displacement techniques to generate strategic balconies and cantilevers, effectively managing visual privacy while maintaining family connectivity. The construction process involved complex wooden formwork techniques for concrete casting, particularly in achieving the double-curved geometries that characterize the building's distinctive aesthetic. Environmental consciousness is demonstrated through minimal plot coverage of 27% against an allowable 40%, creating generous external communal areas and green spaces that enhance the social aspects of the residence while maintaining ecological sensitivity.
