House On The 12th Floor Apartment

House on the 12th Floor Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully reimagines the concept of a traditional house within a high-rise setting. Located in Mexico City, this 450-square-meter apartment represents a sophisticated architectural solution that synthesizes the aspirational ideal of a house with a garden into a contemporary urban dwelling. The design's distinguishing feature is its conceptual transformation of interior spaces, anchored by a main hall with an A-shaped ceiling that deliberately evokes the aesthetic of a gabled roof, creating a psychological connection to traditional residential architecture. The interior scheme demonstrates exceptional spatial planning, incorporating a vertical garden wall in the dining area that brings natural elements into the urban setting. The material palette is characterized by a deliberate contrast between pristine white, high-gloss lacquered walls, ceilings, and fixed furniture, juxtaposed against white-oiled oak hardwood flooring. The lighting design employs a subtle approach with recessed fixtures integrated into walls and ceilings, while the carefully curated furniture selection features leather, black textile, and wood pieces complemented by black marble accent tables. The bedrooms maintain a sophisticated ambiance through a restrained grey color scheme. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project, completed over six months, exemplifies excellence in interior space design through its innovative approach to urban living, successfully merging the comforts of a traditional home with contemporary apartment living while maintaining functional efficiency and aesthetic sophistication.
