House In Silverstrand Residential Space

House in Silverstrand Residential Space is an innovative residential interior design project located in Hong Kong's Silverstrand area, distinguished by its thoughtful architectural transformation and sophisticated spatial planning. This 3000-square-foot mountain-side residence, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a masterful renovation that prioritizes functionality and aesthetic refinement. The design, conceived by Michael Liu, addressed multiple structural challenges inherent in the original building, including problematic sublevels separating the living and dining areas, inefficient storage solutions, and uneven room distributions. Through careful analysis of the owners' fifteen-year living experience and daily habits, the design implemented significant structural adjustments, including the strategic relocation of the entrance and staircase, which resulted in a 20-45% increase in room utility rates. The sophisticated interior design scheme employs light and pale materials as the primary palette, creating a serene atmosphere throughout the space. Notable features include a floating staircase, open kitchen countertops, and architectural benches that work in harmony to establish a cohesive aesthetic language. The renovation successfully transformed the previously segmented space into an open-plan layout, doubling the master bedroom's walk-in closet size and equalizing the children's room dimensions. The design's innovative approach to space optimization and flow management, coupled with its minimalist yet sophisticated material selection, earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, highlighting its excellence in residential interior design transformation.
