House In SAKAI-5 Private House

House in SAKAI-5 Private house is an innovative architectural masterpiece located in Sakai city, Osaka Prefecture, Japan, that exemplifies creative solutions for urban residential design challenges. Completed in February 2016, this three-story wooden structure masterfully transforms a diamond-shaped irregular plot of 61.50 square meters into a functional living space with a total floor area of 96.94 square meters. The design, conceived by architects Shunichiro Ninomiya and Tomoko Morodome, demonstrates exceptional spatial efficiency while contributing positively to the urban landscape. Despite the challenging site conditions and regulatory constraints, the residence showcases remarkable architectural ingenuity through its distinctive form, which emerges from the synthesis of site geometry and interior spatial composition. The structure's unique appearance serves as a compelling architectural accent in an otherwise chaotic urban environment, effectively harmonizing with its surroundings while maintaining its distinctive character. The project, which garnered a Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, exemplifies excellence in contemporary Japanese residential architecture through its innovative approach to space utilization, structural integrity, and urban integration. The design philosophy prioritizes both practical livability and aesthetic contribution to the cityscape, achieving a delicate balance between functional efficiency and architectural expression. The house's three-tiered wooden construction maximizes the available space while maintaining structural integrity, demonstrating how architectural constraints can be transformed into opportunities for creative design solutions.
