Hotel Nostalgia Hotel is an award-winning boutique hotel design that masterfully combines lush and colonial themes to create a distinctive hospitality experience in Singapore's historic Tiong Bahru district. The architectural and interior design concept seamlessly integrates two distinct parcels of land: a two-storey conservation Transitional style shop-house and a newly constructed four-storey building, formerly the site of a Chinese temple. The interior design scheme pays homage to the area's rich heritage while incorporating contemporary luxury elements, featuring bespoke baroque sofas, rococo individual seating, and elaborate solid wood furnishings with marble accents. The hotel's 50 guest rooms, despite space constraints, showcase thoughtfully curated interiors with quality linens featuring classic Jacquard weave embroideries and vibrant silk fabrics on premium beds. The property's distinctive features include a third-level glass-sided lap pool, a terrace bar with contemporary outdoor rattan furniture, and public spaces adorned with Egyptian crystal chandeliers suspended from gold pebble surface ceiling domes. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to space utilization and cultural preservation. The interior scheme employs Spanish and Italian black and white marble floor tiles to reflect colonial influences, while Oriental-inspired artworks and photograph prints of Old Tiong Bahru maintain a strong connection to local heritage. Each room is individually styled to create an intimate atmosphere that balances historical references with modern comfort, featuring neo-classical mirrors and colonial-style wall sconce lighting that enhances the overall nostalgic ambiance.
