Horizontal House Residential House

Horizontal House Residential House

Horizontal House Residential House is an innovative residential architectural project designed by Omid Rouhani, situated on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This contemporary B+G+1+Loft custom home exemplifies sustainable architecture through its integration of both active and passive design solutions, specifically engineered to address the challenging climatic conditions of the region. The design's distinctive features include adjustable shading louvers, hanging vertical gardens, and a green roof system, demonstrating a sophisticated approach to environmental adaptation. The structure's orientation was carefully calibrated to maximize panoramic views, with the main living spaces positioned to capture 180-degree vistas of the surrounding landscape. The open-plan layout enhances spatial flow while maintaining visual connectivity with the exterior environment. This architectural achievement, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, showcases innovative space utilization and environmental consciousness. The project's design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious integration of modern architectural elements with sustainable features, creating a living environment that responds effectively to both user requirements and environmental challenges. The incorporation of vertical gardens and green roof systems not only provides aesthetic value but also contributes to the building's thermal regulation and environmental performance. The project represents a significant advancement in residential architecture, particularly in its response to extreme climate conditions while maintaining high standards of luxury and functionality.
