Hooks Coat Hanger is an innovative furniture design piece that exemplifies minimalist functionality through its thoughtful approach to everyday storage solutions. Created by Portuguese designer José Leite, this wall-mounted coat hanger represents a masterful integration of form and function, constructed from a single sheet of 1.5mm thick iron using laser cutting and bending techniques. The design, which emerged from simple paper-folding exercises exploring bidimensionality, features multiple hooks at varying heights to accommodate different items such as coats, clothing, purses, and backpacks without interference between stored items. The product's elegant simplicity is enhanced by its anti-corrosion treatment and heat-cured powder coating finish, while two black rubber stoppers ensure stable wall mounting. With dimensions of 135mm x 400mm x 1800m, the design achieves remarkable efficiency in both material usage and production processes, emphasizing sustainability through its recyclable materials and low-energy manufacturing approach. The interplay between light and shadow created by its geometric form adds an aesthetic dimension to its practical functionality, demonstrating how essential elements can be both utilitarian and visually appealing. This design excellence was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2015, acknowledging its innovative approach to everyday storage solutions.
