Hongkong Post: Mongkok Post Office is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies innovative spatial branding and modernization of postal service facilities, completed in 2011. The design concept draws inspiration from the distinctive wavy edges of postage stamps, transforming this iconic postal element into an architectural language that defines the space's identity. Led by chief designers Karr Yip and Wilson Lee, alongside team members Alison Chiu and Kit Cheuk, this comprehensive redesign project encompasses three primary objectives: rebranding the visual identity, reshaping the physical space, and reorganizing the signage system. The interior architecture seamlessly integrates curved elements throughout the space, paying homage to traditional postal imagery while creating a contemporary, intuitive environment. The innovative signage system implements a user-centric approach, facilitating effortless navigation through carefully designed icons and descriptions. The project's execution spanned from March 2011 to November 2011, encompassing both design and construction phases.
