home mj Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully integrates natural mountainous landscapes with contemporary living spaces, completed in 2021 in Hong Kong. This 765-square-feet apartment transformation exemplifies a sophisticated approach to biophilic design, where the exterior mountain views become an integral part of the interior aesthetic experience. The design's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from the natural 'ebb and flow' patterns of mountain ranges, incorporating these organic forms into various architectural elements throughout the space. Notable features include a minimalist sloped ceiling that guides the viewer's gaze toward the mountain vista, creating an immersive experience reminiscent of standing atop a mountain peak. The project showcases exceptional material selection, combining terrazzo stone, solid wood flooring, and custom plywood with wood veneer to achieve a cohesive natural aesthetic. A distinctive 2-in-1 fireplace and bookshelf cabinet system extends along the television wall, while the dining area employs timber materials with carefully crafted details that echo hillside formations. The children's bedroom uniquely interprets the natural theme through a campsite-inspired design. The project, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates remarkable space optimization through integrated storage solutions while maintaining a clean, minimal aesthetic that promotes a sense of tranquility and connection to nature.
