Hiding Our Time Residential House

Hiding Our Time Residential House

Hiding Our Time Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates contemporary design elements with functional living spaces across 145 square meters. The design concept draws inspiration from the owner's passion for world travel, incorporating an abstract geometric metal world map installation in the bedroom that allows for personalized arrangement based on travel experiences. The interior architecture addresses the challenges of a long-narrow floor plan with limited natural light through strategic spatial planning, positioning primary living areas and bedrooms along the window-facing side while utilizing transparent and mobile partitions to channel daylight into the dining space. The sophisticated material palette combines slim natural stones, which extend from the television wall through the walkway, creating visual continuity and architectural interest. The entrance features a thoughtfully designed book wall with integrated horizontal linear lighting that corresponds harmoniously with the metal framework illumination beneath the TV cabinet. The design successfully unifies diverse user preferences through a neutral light grey color scheme in public spaces and primary bedroom areas, while introducing distinctive elements such as splash-ink pattern wall coverings in the elder's bedroom to create focal points. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial optimization, material selection, and lighting design, while incorporating innovative solutions for modern living requirements. The design's sophisticated approach to materials, including iron metal, wood pieces, pandomo paint, venice paint, and strategic use of glass, creates a cohesive and contemplative living environment that reflects both practical functionality and aesthetic refinement.
