Hefu Display Center

Hefu Display Center is an architectural masterpiece located in Conghua, Guangzhou, that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary minimalist design principles. This innovative display center, which garnered the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, draws profound inspiration from the ancient art of jade craftsmanship and the rich cultural heritage of its location. The architectural concept revolves around four thematic spaces that mirror the stages of jade making: jade nurturing, jade grinding by nature, jade polishing, and jade creation, manifested through the interface display area, front landscape area, main display center, and backyard model area respectively. The structure's design language explores fundamental elements such as light, space, transparency, and materiality, creating a seamless integration between interior and exterior spaces. The entrance features distinctive stone material with jade-like textures, complemented by hidden linear lighting that creates an inviting visual effect reminiscent of cut gamble stone. The building's facade incorporates natural elements through its mirror-like waterscape, which unfolds like a traditional ink painting scroll, while transparent glass walls invite the surrounding landscape into the interior spaces. This architectural achievement successfully addresses the challenge of maximizing spatial experience within limited urban land resources, while simultaneously preserving and reinterpreting local cultural elements in a modern context. The project, completed between July 2018 and January 2019, demonstrates exceptional innovation in its approach to cultural preservation, spatial design, and environmental integration.
