Created by designer Nikola Vucicevic, this groundbreaking design approach combines functional dining solutions with health consciousness, manifesting as a specially crafted plate made from safe polyethylene or ceramic materials. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, represents a significant advancement in behavioral modification through design intervention. The concept emerged from alarming statistics indicating that over 80 million Americans struggle with obesity, leading to approximately 500,000 deaths annually. The Heart Plate's distinctive design features carefully calculated dimensions of 22.86cm x 22.86cm x 4.6mm, specifically engineered to facilitate proper portion control without requiring conscious effort from users.
