Have A Good Tea Package

Have A Good Tea Package is an innovative packaging design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Japanese tea culture with contemporary aesthetic sensibilities. Created by designer Toshiki Okada, this sophisticated packaging solution was specifically developed to celebrate the cherished Japanese tradition of Hanami (cherry blossom viewing), incorporating both visual and functional elements that enhance the tea-drinking experience. The design features meticulously hand-painted watercolor illustrations depicting authentic landscapes, complementing the cherry blossom and night cherry blossom flavored teas contained within. The package's dimensions of 85mm x 20mm x 150mm are thoughtfully considered for optimal handling, while the use of recyclable, non-glossy high-quality paper demonstrates a commitment to environmental sustainability. The design's distinctive approach includes embossed product logo areas that create a tactile differentiation from the background illustration, adding a layer of sophistication to the user experience. Developed in Kawagoe, a historic Japanese city, between October 2018 and February 2019, this packaging design addresses the challenge of declining tea consumption among younger generations by presenting traditional tea culture in an accessible, contemporary format. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, successfully bridges the gap between heritage and innovation, utilizing a combination of modern simplicity and traditional artistry to create a visually striking and culturally relevant product package. The design's attention to detail extends to its practical considerations, featuring easy disassembly for recycling and gift-giving appeal, while its artistic elements serve to convey the sensory experience of both the product and the cultural tradition it represents.
