Harmony With City Interior Design

Harmony With City Interior Design

Harmony with City Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in 2016 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates urban landscapes with domestic living spaces. This sophisticated design solution, created by Kevin Chu, encompasses a 150-square-meter space that harmoniously bridges the connection between interior comfort and exterior cityscape through strategic architectural elements and thoughtful design choices. The project's distinguishing feature lies in its innovative use of large ceiling windows, which not only facilitate natural light penetration but also create a seamless visual dialogue between the indoor environment and the urban setting beyond. The design philosophy emphasizes the therapeutic aspects of landscape integration, utilizing a refined palette of white walls and earth-tone colors to create a serene atmosphere that promotes mental well-being. The interior space is artfully segmented through the strategic placement of furniture, with particular attention paid to specialized areas such as the study room, which features carefully curated display cabinets and lighting fixtures. A notable design element includes the boy's room, characterized by sophisticated black walls that reflect a contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the project's overall harmony. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and innovative approach to residential design. The project successfully demonstrates how interior design can enhance the quality of life through thoughtful integration of natural elements, practical functionality, and aesthetic refinement, while maintaining a strong connection to its urban context.
