Harmony Vertical Flowerbed

Harmony Vertical Flowerbed

Harmony Vertical Flowerbed is an innovative hydroponic growing system designed to revolutionize urban agriculture through its efficient vertical gardening solution. This comprehensive system, designed by Israeli designer Ela Pincu and recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant advancement in sustainable urban farming technology. The system features a sophisticated one-piece construction that eliminates the need for complex assembly and prevents common issues such as leakage, while incorporating twenty separate planting pockets equipped with reusable net pots. Standing at 165 centimeters in height, the system integrates a 35-liter water tank base with a 30-centimeter radius, complemented by an upper hoarding mini tank that facilitates a closed-loop water circulation system powered by a 30-watt pump. This resourceful design achieves remarkable efficiency by reducing land usage by up to 90% and water consumption by up to 80% compared to traditional gardening methods. The system's thoughtful engineering includes features such as asymmetrical inner components for foolproof assembly, a drainage tap for maintenance, and a wheeled base for mobility. The design particularly excels in its ability to accommodate a diverse range of plants, from vegetables and fruits to flowers and herbs, making it an ideal solution for urban dwellers, individuals with special needs, and those seeking to cultivate fresh produce in space-constrained environments. The integration of slow-release fertilizer sufficient for six months of growing further emphasizes its user-friendly approach to sustainable urban agriculture.
