Hans Gretel Packaging

Hans Gretel Packaging is an innovative packaging design project that exemplifies the fusion of fairy tale aesthetics with contemporary retail design, created by a team led by Creative Director Antonia Skaraki in collaboration with designers Evri Makridis and Andreas Deskas. This comprehensive packaging system, developed between February and December 2018 in Athens, Greece, encompasses various container formats including ice-cream cones, cups of different volumes, and specialized candy boxes, all unified by a distinctive visual language that draws inspiration from classic fairy tales and mythological narratives. The design's primary objective was to create an immersive brand experience that would transport consumers into a magical realm of sweetness, achieved through the implementation of dreamy patterns, bold color schemes, and maximal design elements. The packaging solution demonstrates technical excellence through CMYK offset printing technology, with meticulous attention to dimensional specifications ranging from 150ml cups to larger candy house boxes measuring 14x7x14 centimeters. The design successfully overcomes the challenge of creating age-transcendent appeal, effectively convincing consumers that magical experiences are not limited by age demographics. This innovative approach to packaging design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2019, acknowledging its creative merit and professional execution. The project's success lies in its ability to transform routine consumer interactions into enchanting experiences, effectively promoting brand uniqueness while maintaining functional efficiency and visual appeal. The design philosophy emphasizes the creation of positive, harmonious visual elements that elevate the simple act of holding a cup or carrying a bag into a moment of whimsical engagement with the brand narrative.
