Created under the leadership of visual artist Nguyen Thu Thuy, this expansive ceramic mosaic masterpiece spans 27 meters in width and stands 3.4 meters high, incorporating over 250,000 individual mosaic tiles, each measuring 2 centimeters square. The mural, completed in April 2019, serves as a visual narrative chronicling the thousand-year history of Hanoi, seamlessly blending historical architectural landmarks with representations of the city's natural beauty. This ambitious installation, which earned an Iron A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category, exemplifies the integration of traditional Vietnamese ceramic craftsmanship with contemporary artistic expression.
