Hana Chair

Hana Chair

Hana Chair is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural inspiration and contemporary craftsmanship. Created by Spanish architect and designer Pablo Vidiella, this elegant seating solution draws its conceptual foundation from botanical forms, particularly the graceful unfurling of flower petals. The chair's distinctive design features a seamless transformation of geometric simplicity into complex organic forms, where two petal-like structures elegantly emerge to create both the backrest and seat, effectively embracing the user's body in a natural, ergonomic manner. Crafted from solid charcoal ash wood, though adaptable to other premium woods such as iroko or walnut, the chair showcases sophisticated manufacturing techniques combining advanced 5-axis CNC milling technology with traditional craftsmanship. The chair's dimensions (560mm width x 550mm depth x 800mm height) and lightweight construction (6.5kg) contribute to its practical functionality while maintaining its sculptural aesthetic. The design's innovative approach to structural requirements and user comfort earned it the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022, recognizing its exceptional contribution to contemporary furniture design. The chair's organic curves and warm material selection create an intuitive connection with users, appealing to the human predisposition toward natural forms and demonstrating how biophilic design principles can be successfully integrated into modern furniture creation.
