Hall Of Sonata Residential
Hall of Sonata Residential is an award-winning interior design project completed in October 2020 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, that exemplifies innovative spatial design through its masterful integration of natural light and flexible living spaces. The project, designed by Ying Chen Hsieh, distinguishes itself through its sophisticated use of corner windows and thoughtfully implemented window screens that facilitate the flow of natural daylight throughout both public and private areas. The design incorporates an open plan concept with flexible spatial divisions, utilizing half-height screens and movable sliding doors to create adaptable living environments. A notable feature is the integration of curved architectural elements, including an ingeniously designed curved arc that transforms a potentially oppressive entrance beam into an aesthetic feature. The material palette combines iron, wood, water-based paint, and glass, creating a harmonious interplay of textures and surfaces. The design addresses practical storage needs through strategically placed cabinets while maintaining visual continuity through consistent use of geometric elements and curvilinear forms. A distinctive daze pavilion in the private area offers a hotel-like atmosphere for mental restoration. The project's excellence in interior space design was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding achievement in spatial innovation, material selection, and functional layout design. The design successfully balances aesthetic sophistication with practical functionality, employing translucent materials and reflective surfaces to enhance spatial perception while maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the interior.
