Hélio Oiticica
Hélio Oiticica was a Brazilian painter and installation artist who left an indelible mark on the history of modern art. He was celebrated for his experimental approach to media and its relationship with the body, as seen in his famous works such as 'Tropicália' and 'Penetráveis'. His artistic practice embraced the notion of interactive art, and he was the first to use the concept of ‘intermedia’, a form of art that intersects both art and technology. Oiticica also had a profound influence on the development of participatory art, which is now a globally accepted form of art-making.
