Guoju Garden Palace Residential House

Guoju Garden Palace Residential House

Guoju Garden Palace Residential House is an exemplary residential landscape design project completed in 2018 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates natural elements with contemporary architectural aesthetics. This innovative 1,560-square-meter public landscape design transforms congregated housing spaces into a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor facilities, creating an environment that simulates the experience of living beside a creek and forest. The design's distinctive approach employs strategic placement of deciduous cypress trees, varied shrubs, and herbaceous plants in a sophisticated stratified planting scheme that generates rich visual depth and seasonal interest. The landscape architecture incorporates naturally-aligned stones, marsh-like environments, and thoughtfully designed water features that create a seamless transition between built and natural environments. European-style elements are integrated through a dedicated coffee area surrounded by cherry and elm trees, complemented by small-leafed rhododendrons and colorful plantings of irises and crabapples. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, distinguishes itself through its minimal use of rigid pavements, instead favoring organic stone pathways and naturalistic elements that require meticulous maintenance to preserve their forest-like character. The design's sophisticated lighting scheme enhances the landscape's beauty during evening hours, while the careful integration of water features, including slow-flowing streams and strategic placement of pebbles and aquatic plants, creates an immersive natural experience that transforms ordinary residential spaces into a tranquil urban oasis.
