Guilin Yanshan Wanda Exhibition Center Sales Center is an architecturally distinctive exhibition and sales facility that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design principles. Completed in 2017, this 3,500-square-meter structure features a remarkable octagonal drum-tower form that pays homage to the architectural heritage of the Dong minority, particularly their sophisticated mortise and tenon joinery techniques. The design masterfully incorporates regional cultural elements, including references to Guilin's dramatic landscape, Guangxi bronze drums, and ancient cliff stone carvings, creating a profound connection to its geographical and cultural context. The building's most striking feature is its thirteen-tiered overlapping eaves, which create a dynamic interplay between massive structural elements and delicate architectural details. The design team overcame significant technical challenges in implementing this complex structural system, successfully integrating diverse materials to achieve a balanced composition of contrasting elements - light and heavy, sparse and dense, rigid and flexible. The interior spaces are thoughtfully crafted to showcase both the practical functions of a modern sales center and the rich cultural narrative of the region. This innovative architectural achievement, which garnered a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional expertise in spatial organization, material selection, and cultural interpretation.
