Grey / Salt Restaurant is an award-winning Mediterranean-inspired dining establishment that exemplifies sophisticated interior design through its thoughtful integration of natural materials and coastal aesthetics. Located within a casino and hotel complex, this 8,890-square-foot culinary space serves as a tranquil sanctuary, distinguished by its bright atmosphere and carefully curated palette of warm neutral materials. The restaurant's design philosophy draws inspiration from Mediterranean seaside villages, featuring signature elements such as a sun-bleached wooden boardwalk that guides patrons to a distinctive round zinc bar. The interior architecture incorporates textured white plaster walls, sand-colored concrete flooring, and travertine terraces that collectively evoke a seaside ambiance. The space's authenticity is enhanced through strategic placement of culinary elements including rosemary planters, preserved lemons, spice jars, olive oil displays, wine storage, and firewood for grills, creating an immersive coastal dining experience. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design, showcases exceptional attention to material selection, with white painted and weathered woods providing tactile elements throughout the furniture and ceiling treatments. The restaurant's sophisticated blue upholstered banquettes add a striking visual reference to the Mediterranean Sea, while the overall design emphasizes natural material patination and handcrafted assembly techniques, creating a marked contrast to its contemporary casino surroundings. Completed in October 2015, the interior renovation project successfully transforms the space into an elegant dining destination that harmoniously balances functionality with atmospheric design.
