This groundbreaking footwear solution, which emerged from five years of intensive research and development, demonstrates a comprehensive approach to environmental preservation through innovative material application in the footwear industry. Each pair of shoes incorporates approximately 15 recycled plastic bottles, utilizing them in every major component including the uppers, insoles, and outsoles, effectively transforming environmental waste into functional, sustainable footwear. The design features a distinctive SKIVE-ON technology that implements over 100 independent, resilient dots in the outsole construction, delivering superior barefoot comfort while maintaining environmental responsibility. The manufacturing process follows a sophisticated sequence: ocean-retrieved plastic bottles are sorted, cleaned, shredded, and transformed into pellets, which are then either converted into fibers for the upper portion and insole lining or combined with EVA for the high-performance outsole. This innovative approach to footwear design, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Footwear, Shoes and Boots Design category, addresses critical environmental challenges, particularly the global crisis of plastic pollution where over one million bottles are discarded every minute worldwide with less than 4% being properly recycled. The design's technical specifications maintain professional standards while prioritizing environmental impact reduction, featuring dimensions of 11mm x 29.5mm x 10mm for a US size 9 men's shoe, and incorporating RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) as its primary material component.
