Green Pompeii Console

Green Pompeii Console

Green Pompeii Console is a conceptually sophisticated and aesthetically striking limited edition furniture piece that serves as a profound commentary on the relationship between nature and urban development. Created as part of a broader artistic exploration of environmental themes, this avant-garde console is limited to eight unique, numbered, and signed pieces, each representing nature's metaphorical revenge on unchecked urban expansion. The design features a dramatic composition combining multiple materials including crystal clear glass top, oxidized brass, concrete, polished stainless steel, gun metal, patinated silver leaf, and crystal epoxy resin, with the latter material requiring specialized expertise to cast over 80 liters in a single pour. Measuring 180 x 46 x 88 centimeters, the console's vertical elements symbolize urban architecture while the resin component represents a green flood, creating a visual narrative of environmental upheaval. The piece, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, exemplifies the intersection of functional furniture design and conceptual art, challenging conventional furniture aesthetics while maintaining practical utility. The creation process involved extensive material research and numerous prototypes to achieve the perfect balance between structural integrity and artistic vision. This experimental approach to furniture design not only pushes the boundaries of contemporary furniture creation but also serves as a powerful statement about environmental consciousness in modern design practice.
