Green Nest Residential Apartment

Green Nest Residential Apartment

Green Nest Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, encompassing 85 square meters of thoughtfully crafted living space designed to accommodate a newlywed couple while anticipating their future family needs. The project exemplifies sophisticated architectural problem-solving through its ingenious treatment of structural constraints, particularly in the management of existing girders and beams, which were transformed into aesthetic focal points through the introduction of diverse-sized apertures and curves that create dynamic lighting experiences. The design seamlessly integrates multiple functional areas, including two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a working studio, and combined living, dining, and cooking spaces, while employing premium materials such as terrazzo flooring to unify different zones while maintaining distinct spatial identities. Notable design elements include the strategic use of reeded glass for balanced transparency and privacy in the working area, complemented by wood finishes and mineral paint applications that add depth and character to the interior environment. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial efficiency and aesthetic innovation through its curved forms, integrated storage solutions, and minimalist yet functional approach. The design philosophy prioritizes both immediate functionality and future adaptability, incorporating child-safe features and flexible spaces that can accommodate visiting family members or future additions to the family, while successfully addressing the challenge of creating an open, inviting atmosphere within the constraints of urban apartment living.
