Green Light Tea Garden Packaging

Green Light Tea Garden Packaging is an innovative and environmentally conscious packaging design solution that exemplifies sustainable practices in tea product presentation. Created by designer Ren Huang Fang in collaboration with Pang Chih Sung and illustrator Chiu Li Chi, this packaging system represents a groundbreaking approach to eco-friendly design, utilizing recycled tea waste and tea bag paper as its primary material composition. The design, which won the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, showcases a harmonious integration of environmental stewardship and cultural storytelling. Located in the Pinglin region of Taiwan, near the Feicui Reservoir's headwaters, the packaging's design narrative incorporates illustrations of four indigenous creatures - the Collared Owlet, Formosan muntjac, Lophura swinhoii, and Emerald green tree frog - seamlessly integrated with local environmental elements such as clouds, mountains, forests, and water. The production process involves an innovative technique of combining filtered tea residue with handmade paper, printed using environmentally friendly inks, demonstrating a significant technical achievement in sustainable packaging manufacturing. The gift box dimensions of 246mm x 256mm x 100mm and accompanying bags measuring 94mm x 103mm are thoughtfully designed to protect and present the tea products while minimizing environmental impact. This packaging design serves a dual purpose: it not only protects and presents the tea products but also communicates a powerful message about environmental conservation and sustainable practices, establishing a meaningful connection between consumers and environmental stewardship through its innovative use of recycled materials and artistic representation of local biodiversity.
