Greater Hermit Residence

Greater Hermit Residence

Greater Hermit Residence is an innovative residential interior design project completed in Taiwan in 2022, distinguished by its sophisticated integration of storage and display solutions for an extensive collection of over 200 models. The 71.9-square-meter space was masterfully transformed into a four-room layout by designer Ching-Hung Lin, who reimagined the 15-year-old apartment with a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic excellence. The design's cornerstone features custom-made display cases with precisely cut single-sided glass, enabling optimal visualization of the client's valuable collection while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic. The interior scheme artfully combines rattan tones with luxurious materials including marble, iron, and wood veneer, creating a sophisticated atmosphere that balances rigidity with luxury. Notable design elements include strategic lighting solutions that highlight collection pieces, smart appliances integration, and gold metallic accents that provide elegant counterpoints to the display areas. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional space optimization through its reduced corridor width and carefully planned storage solutions. The designer's approach successfully addresses the dual challenges of creating both a functional living space and a museum-quality display environment, incorporating sustainable design practices and innovative material applications while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic that ensures timeless appeal.
