Grand View Resort Resort is an award-winning architectural interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary spatial design. Located in Chiayi, Taiwan, this 354-square-meter resort development masterfully incorporates traditional Chinese philosophical elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth into its design narrative. The project, completed in September 2014, demonstrates exceptional spatial articulation through its innovative use of materials and architectural elements. The entrance lobby features carefully selected marble installations that create an ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of endless clouds, enhanced by large ceiling windows that capture the dynamic interplay of natural light throughout the day and seasons. The design's sophistication extends to its VIP rooms, where sloped ceilings and geometric elements create an artistic representation of cascading waterfalls. Notable design features include sanded sycamore low cabinets that artistically interpret the natural landscape, and frosted glass patterns depicting tree branches that generate an immersive forest-like environment. The reception area on the fourth floor showcases 18 unique hand-made kiln-formed glass pieces representing golf course layouts, reflecting the resort's recreational focus. The project, designed by Jui-Kun Chen, received recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional achievement in spatial design and creative material application. The design successfully creates a dialogue between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape, employing sophisticated architectural elements to translate the serenity of mountains and flowing water into a contemporary architectural language.
