Grand Tsuru Niseko Ski Villa

Grand Tsuru Niseko Ski Villa

Grand Tsuru Niseko Ski Villa is an architecturally distinguished residential development located in the prestigious ski resort area of Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan, comprising three exclusive 250-square-meter luxury properties that seamlessly integrate Japanese architectural principles with contemporary design sensibilities. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, draws its inspiration from the graceful flight of the crane (tsuru in Japanese), reflected in its extended eaves and sophisticated timber framework. Each villa features a thoughtfully conceived floor plan spanning 230.63 square meters of internal space, incorporating a spacious living area with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic forest views, two Japanese-style bedrooms, and a master suite complete with a traditional Japanese tiled bath. The architectural composition emphasizes harmony with the natural surroundings through its longitudinal building shape, strategic setbacks, and innovative privacy solutions, including semi-blind walls and lateral view orientations. The properties showcase exceptional attention to environmental considerations, featuring enhanced insulation, underfloor heating, and snow-shedding roof design specifically engineered for Niseko's winter climate. The development's distinctive aesthetic is characterized by the interplay of natural wood louvers, metal cladding, and vertical elements that create a visual dialogue between traditional Japanese craftsmanship and modern architectural expression. The central staircase serves as both a functional element and an artistic feature, facilitating natural light distribution throughout the skip-floor layout while maintaining the project's commitment to spatial efficiency and aesthetic refinement.
