Grand Copacabana Mixed Use Bulding

Grand Copacabana Mixed Use Bulding is an innovative architectural masterpiece located in Torres, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, that exemplifies the harmonious integration of commercial and residential spaces within an urban context. This 19-story structure, encompassing 11,556.99 square meters, represents a sophisticated approach to mixed-use development where the boundary between public and private spaces is thoughtfully blurred. The building's design philosophy centers on creating a seamless extension of the cityscape, particularly evident in its ground floor configuration which features a generously set-back commercial area that transforms into an inviting urban mall along Avenida Benjamim Constant. The architectural composition is distinguished by its striking exterior, where white frames slide along the facade, creating a dynamic interplay of protection and transparency, while the strategic use of black and white tiles generates a compelling visual contrast that emphasizes the depth of the balconies. From the fifth floor upward, the residential section comprises four units per floor, each featuring expansive balconies that frame spectacular city and ocean views. The nineteenth floor houses comprehensive leisure facilities, including a fitness center, gourmet space, party salon, games room, coworking area, and a panoramic swimming pool. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to regional construction techniques and materials, incorporating reinforced concrete structural systems and utilizing finishes that pay homage to the iconic Copacabana beach through its Portuguese stone pavement detailing.
