This ingenious design, created by Xizi Wang, addresses a common frustration encountered by tape users - the difficulty in locating the tape's cut edge. The design employs a sophisticated gradient color system that creates a visible color differential at the point of cutting, making it significantly easier for users to identify where the tape ends and begins. Manufactured using PVC film-based material without plasticizers, the tape demonstrates exceptional low-temperature resistance and initial viscosity properties, while maintaining ease of punching and cutting moldability. The product's dimensions of 10cm x 10cm x 1.5cm make it conveniently sized for both personal and professional use. The development of this design, which took place between September 2020 and February 2021, represents a significant advancement in stationery design, particularly considering the tape industry's substantial market growth from 10.03 billion square meters in 2007 to 23.80 billion square meters in 2017. The design's innovative approach earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Art and Stationery Supplies Design category, acknowledging its contribution to solving everyday challenges through thoughtful design. The product's unique interaction flow enables users to easily identify areas of pronounced color difference, facilitating simpler tape usage and subsequent cut location identification, thereby enhancing the overall user experience.
