Goodiscs Vinyl Records guesthouse VIP Guesthouse is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of audiophile culture with sophisticated hospitality design, created by designer Tsun-Shao Yang in collaboration with Hsueh-Hsun Chen. Located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, this 100-square-meter space masterfully integrates natural wood elements to mirror the authentic texture and quality of vinyl records, featuring distinctive waffle surfaces and natural wood cleavage patterns that pay homage to the grooves of gramophone records. The interior showcases ceiling-high closets crafted from North American pine wood, specifically dimensioned to house an extensive vinyl record collection, while incorporating premium audio-visual equipment and advanced soundproofing materials. The space's sophisticated design employs a carefully curated selection of materials including walnut veneer, Japanese Hinoki cypress veneer, hollow brick, and engineered flooring, complemented by aesthetically weathered iron letterwork. The guesthouse creates an immersive cultural experience by providing a carefully curated collection of literary works, including valuable cultural artifacts by Lu Xun, alongside dedicated areas for wine, coffee, and tea appreciation. This exceptional design, completed in 2016, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to hospitality design and cultural space creation. The project demonstrates exceptional attention to acoustic optimization while maintaining aesthetic excellence, creating an environment that celebrates both musical and literary arts in a refined setting.
