Goccia Container is an innovative multifunctional furniture design that reimagines the traditional concept of storage and lighting through a sophisticated suspended ceramic vessel system. Created by Italian designer Giuliano Ricciardi, this versatile design consists of droplet-shaped containers available in three distinct sizes, crafted through meticulous lathe ceramics processing. The design's organic form draws inspiration from the concept of a buoy suspended in mid-air, serving as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional domestic hearth. Each container is suspended from the ceiling via a rope system that allows for adjustable height positioning, incorporating warm white LED lighting that transforms the vessels into ambient light diffusers. The largest variant can be complemented with a solid oak top, expanding its functionality as a suspended table surface. The containers' ceramic construction ensures their suitability for both indoor and outdoor applications, capable of housing various items from winter blankets to seasonal fruits or chilled beverages in ice. This design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant innovation in addressing modern social dynamics by creating gathering points that counter the physical isolation often associated with contemporary digital technology. The design's technical sophistication is evident in its carefully considered suspension mechanism, featuring a wooden truncated cone that securely fits into the container's neck through gravitational force, while simultaneously accommodating both the suspension rope and LED lighting system powered by a decorative electric cable. The containers are available in three progressive sizes: 200x200x400mm, 300x300x600mm, and 400x400x800mm, with an optional wooden top measuring 1000x1000x30mm for the largest variant.
