Gin Manners Gin Bottle is an innovative packaging design that exemplifies the dual nature of gin consumption culture through its transformative visual presentation. This sophisticated spirits container, created by Estudio Maba, represents a remarkable fusion of traditional British elegance and contemporary design innovation. The bottle's design draws inspiration from classical English perfumery forms and traditional London gin aesthetics, while incorporating modern interactive elements that create a distinctive day-to-night experience. During daylight hours, the bottle presents a refined, formal appearance, but when exposed to black light in nighttime settings, it reveals an alternative, more rebellious character through the use of luminescent ink technology. This duality is achieved through a complex printing process combining digital printing and flexography on Tintoretto Crystal Salt, enhanced with silver foil stamping and specialized luminescent inks. The design's dimensions of 95 x 70 x 210 mm were carefully considered to maintain both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The project, which earned a Golden A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, demonstrates exceptional technical innovation in its printing methodology, requiring extensive testing to achieve the perfect balance between daytime visibility and nighttime luminescence. The design concept pays homage to British cultural dichotomy, bridging the gap between traditional propriety and contemporary counterculture, while serving as a sophisticated vessel for spirit consumption across various social contexts.
