Gift Residential
Gift Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of contemporary spatial planning with traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship. Located in Hsinchu and completed in 2021, this 66-square-meter residential space showcases a thoughtful transformation of conventional layout principles into a modern living environment. The design's distinctive approach involves dismantling walls between rooms to create an open-concept living space, strategically divided into public and private zones through a sophisticated TV wall installation. The project's architectural integrity is enhanced by innovative ceiling details featuring coiled edges that create visual continuity throughout the space. A significant design element is the floor-to-ceiling window, which not only floods the interior with natural light but also establishes a seamless connection with the terrace, effectively expanding the perceived spatial dimensions. The interior celebrates Taiwan's rich cultural heritage through carefully curated raw wood and rattan furniture pieces, crafted by new-generation local artisans who worked on-site to ensure perfect integration with the space. Notable features include a handcrafted wood grille screen in the foyer, created from a single block of raw wood, and traditional three-door rattan cabinets that pay homage to Taiwan's 1960s aesthetic. The color palette employs neutral, earthy tones complemented by grey-blue honeycomb shades, creating a timeless atmosphere that highlights the architectural details and bespoke furniture. This project, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in residential interior design, particularly for its successful integration of traditional craftsmanship with modern living requirements.
