Gemdale The One Residential

Gemdale The One Residential

Gemdale The One Residential is a distinguished six-story villa development located in the Wanbo Business District of Guangzhou South CBD, exemplifying innovative architectural and interior design principles that harmoniously blend functionality with aesthetic refinement. The project, which garnered the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a masterful approach to spatial planning through its unique vertical configuration of three floors above and below ground. The design philosophy emphasizes a return to essential living principles, manifesting in spaces that promote tranquility and simplicity while maintaining sophisticated architectural elements. A notable feature is the innovative use of the plot's natural level difference, where the garden has been elevated to create both privacy and a distinctive double first store setting, offering dual-story landscape views. The interior design demonstrates remarkable restraint in material selection, predominantly utilizing a black and white color palette accented with subtle grayscale variations, while natural materials are thoughtfully incorporated to maintain authenticity. The circulation within the space has been revolutionized through the implementation of a three-story vertical step ladder and a spiral staircase, creating fluid movement between living and social areas. This architectural intervention successfully transforms the original six-story vertical circulation into a more intuitive and comfortable flow, exemplifying how thoughtful design can enhance daily living experiences. The project, completed in 2018, represents a significant achievement in residential architecture, where functionality, privacy, and aesthetic considerations converge to create a living space that responds sensitively to contemporary lifestyle needs while maintaining a timeless appeal.
