This 150-square-meter interior space, designed by Lv Jing and Jiafeng Zhou, represents a sophisticated reinterpretation of traditional Northwestern Chinese dining culture through innovative spatial design. The restaurant's concept draws inspiration from the Qin Opera featured in the film White Deer Plain, embodying the region's spirit of courage and heroism. The design employs a striking black theme complemented by metal braided grilles and uncarved rocks, creating a dramatic interplay between traditional and industrial aesthetics. The space features a thoughtfully divided layout with three distinct kitchen areas and an open-plan dining section, organized along a main axis to accommodate diverse dining experiences. Notable architectural elements include a herringbone-inspired ceiling design that pays homage to Northwestern architectural traditions while solving spatial constraints, and geometric patterns incorporating wheat motifs that add rich detail to the elevations. The restaurant's innovative design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, successfully creates a dialogue between interior and exterior spaces through strategic use of transparent glass windows and black blocks, generating compelling depth-of-field effects.
