G2 House Architecture Residential

G2 House Architecture Residential is an innovative residential architectural project located in the rural area of Mii city, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, exemplifying a harmonious blend of privacy-focused design and contemporary aesthetics. Completed in December 2017, this sophisticated dwelling comprises three main masses: a garage, an entrance hall with a Japanese-style room, and living spaces, all thoughtfully arranged to optimize natural daylight and ventilation. The design's most distinctive feature is its opposing roof directions between the front and rear buildings, creating a sculptural form that not only serves aesthetic purposes but also fulfills functional requirements for privacy and environmental efficiency. The structure employs red cedar throughout its interior, producing warm, bright spaces that mirror the external form through matching ceiling inclinations. The architectural composition incorporates two inner gardens strategically positioned between the northern section (containing bedrooms and living room) and the southern section (housing the entrance hall and Japanese-style room), facilitating optimal natural illumination throughout the residence. The connection between spaces is enhanced by a hallway featuring large windows on both sides, creating a sense of openness while maintaining privacy. This architectural achievement, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2019, demonstrates exceptional innovation in residential architecture through its thoughtful integration of privacy considerations, environmental efficiency, and contemporary design aesthetics. The project successfully addresses modern architectural challenges while creating a living space that harmoniously balances functionality with artistic expression, particularly evident in its dramatic nighttime appearance enhanced by carefully planned lighting design.
