Fruit Bowl Slice Fruit Bowl
Fruit Bowl Slice Fruit Bowl is an innovative decorative and functional piece that exemplifies the intersection of artistic expression and utilitarian design in contemporary tableware. Created by Brazilian designer Ronald Sasson, this sophisticated fruit bowl represents a harmonious blend of organic forms and technological precision, featuring multiple layers of stainless steel sheets with distinctive organic deformations that create an almost amorphous visual effect. The design draws its inspiration from the natural phenomenon of fallen leaves accumulating on the ground and the systematic process of fruit cutting, translating these concepts into a metallic sculptural form. Crafted through a meticulous process of laser-cutting stainless steel sheets and connecting them through hidden welding points, the bowl is elevated by a luxurious 24K gold bath finish that adds both aesthetic value and material prestige. Measuring 515x50x110mm, the bowl's overlapping blades create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, while its organic deformations suggest a sense of natural replication and movement. Designed between September 2018 and January 2019 in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, this piece serves as both a functional fruit bowl and an artistic centerpiece for dining tables, dressers, or coffee tables. The design's innovative approach to form and material earned it the Silver A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, recognizing its contribution to elevating everyday objects into sophisticated design statements. The technical challenge of executing two-way opposing folds and securing the layers through concealed welding points demonstrates the designer's commitment to pushing the boundaries of conventional tableware design.
