Froggie Table Lamp is an innovative biomimetic lighting design that artfully captures the essence of an amphibian emerging from water, created by Canadian designer Yongwook Seong in 2021. This sophisticated desk lamp reimagines the natural moment when a frog surfaces above water, translating this biological phenomenon into a functional lighting fixture that seamlessly merges form with function. The design's most distinctive feature is its representation of frog eyes as adjustable light sources, allowing users to manipulate their positions to create various lighting effects, while the lamp's base cleverly depicts the exposed body of the amphibian above the waterline. Measuring 256 mm in width, 165 mm in depth, and reaching a maximum height of 310 mm, the lamp incorporates advanced touch sensor technology in each nostril for independent control of the lighting elements. The design's philosophical underpinning draws inspiration from the unique double life characteristic of amphibians, particularly their ability to exist between aquatic and terrestrial environments, reflected in the lamp's aesthetic composition.
