This award-winning interior design project, completed in West Vancouver, British Columbia, represents a significant transformation of a conventional supermarket space into an engaging, market-style shopping destination that emphasizes freshness and local produce. The design philosophy centers on creating distinct boutique-within-store experiences, effectively dividing the space into specialized departments that mirror an authentic waterfront market atmosphere. The interior architecture employs a sophisticated material palette combining surgical white, crisp black, and rustic textures, complemented by natural wood grains and metallic accents that create an urban fresh aesthetic. Notable design elements include custom fixtures, such as the innovative Soup & Salad Bar Island featuring corrugated steel and Caesarstone countertops, alongside thoughtfully implemented lighting solutions that provide dramatic ambient illumination to showcase fresh produce. The space planning dedicates half of the store to fresh fare, positioning produce prominently at the entrance and organizing specialized sections like the bakery, deli, and butcher shop in a cohesive layout that enhances the shopping experience.
