Forest Village Exhibition Center is an exemplary architectural and interior design project completed in 2018, situated in the Sansia district of Taiwan, encompassing 264 square meters of thoughtfully crafted exhibition space. The center stands as a testament to the harmonious integration of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design sensibilities, featuring extensive use of natural materials, particularly rattan-woven elements both in its interior and exterior compositions. Designed by Chih-Feng Lin and Chia-Fu Hsu, the center's architectural language pays homage to its historical context, positioned near significant cultural landmarks including the Qingshui Zushi Temple. The design incorporates innovative solutions to preserve the natural rattan materials, utilizing specialized treatment oils to protect against environmental factors while maintaining authenticity. The space is characterized by its sophisticated integration of wooden grating fences, cane sliding doors, and natural burlap lanterns, creating an atmosphere that balances warmth with functionality. A significant architectural feature is the large roof window and French windows, which facilitate natural illumination throughout the lobby and reception areas, enhancing spatial depth perception. The color palette employs subtle gray and beige tones with refined textures, complemented by modern black iron pipe elements that serve as contemporary visual anchors. This exceptional design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to cultural preservation and innovative spatial design.
