Flowing Arcs Ring is an innovative jewelry design that challenges traditional ring aesthetics through its unconventional non-circular form, created by designer Sun Hyang Ha. This avant-garde piece consists of flowing arcs that create a continuous line, offering versatile wearing options either on a single finger or spanning two adjacent fingers. The design, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry Design category, represents a significant departure from conventional ring design principles while maintaining functional wearability. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the ring features precise dimensions of 38mm in width, 19mm in depth, and 26mm in height, with a consistent 2mm square wire thickness throughout its construction. The design's versatility extends to its material options, as it can be produced in various precious metals including platinum, 18k yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, or sterling silver, and can be adorned with different gemstones such as diamonds, tsavorite garnets, blue topaz, or sapphires through pave setting techniques. The development process involved extensive prototyping, evolving from initial straight-line concepts to the final curved design that ensures secure wearing comfort. The ring's dual functionality as both a wearable piece and an objet d'art demonstrates its innovative approach to jewelry design, challenging conventional perspectives while maintaining practical functionality. The production process utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing in wax for casting or direct metal fabrication, allowing for precise execution of the complex geometric design.
