Florencia Lounge Chair

Florencia Lounge Chair

Florencia Lounge Chair is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of form and function, created by designer Camila Lerena. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal Ghost Orchid native to South Florida, this distinguished piece features a seamless continuous aluminum frame with zero hardware joints, embodying both aesthetic elegance and practical simplicity. The chair's most distinctive characteristic lies in its unique construction, where hooked leather or cotton fabric creates a hammock-like seating experience that naturally adapts to the user's body contours through gravitational forces. The design's dimensions of 939.8 mm x 889 mm x 1016 mm, with a seat height of 431.8 mm and armrest height of 660.4 mm, have been carefully calculated to ensure optimal ergonomic comfort. The chair's innovative approach to furniture construction eliminates the need for complex assembly tools and hardware, while its interchangeable fabric system allows for easy maintenance and customization. This remarkable design, which was developed between February and May 2022, represents a significant advancement in lounge chair design, particularly in its approach to sustainability and longevity. The casted aluminum frame's luminous finish complements its organic, flowing lines, while the innovative fabric suspension system creates a floating sensation that mirrors its orchid inspiration. The design's excellence has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary furniture design through its innovative material use, ergonomic comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
