Flooring Underlay Made Of Cork

Cork underlayment is a type of flooring underlay made of cork, a natural and renewable material that is harvested from the bark of cork oak trees. Cork underlayment is used as a subfloor beneath a variety of flooring materials, including hardwood, laminate, and tile, to provide a smooth and level surface, reduce noise transmission, and improve thermal insulation. Cork underlayment is a popular choice for residential and commercial buildings because of its many benefits. Cork underlayment is an excellent sound insulator, as it can reduce noise transmission by up to 10 decibels. This makes it an ideal choice for apartments, condos, and other multi-unit buildings where noise can be a problem. Additionally, cork underlayment is naturally resistant to moisture, mold, and mildew, making it a great choice for areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms and basements. Cork underlayment is also environmentally friendly, as it is made from a renewable resource and is biodegradable. Cork oak trees are not cut down during the harvesting process, and the bark regenerates every 9-12 years, making cork a sustainable material. Additionally, cork underlayment is free from harmful chemicals and emissions, making it a safe choice for homes and businesses. In terms of installation, cork underlayment is easy to work with and can be cut to fit any size or shape of room. It can be installed over any type of subfloor, including concrete, plywood, and existing flooring. Cork underlayment is also lightweight and easy to handle, making it a great choice for DIY projects. Overall, cork underlayment is a versatile and eco-friendly option for flooring underlayment. Its many benefits, including sound insulation, moisture resistance, and sustainability, make it a popular choice for both residential and commercial buildings.
