Floor Edgers

Floor Edgers

Floor edgers are specialized power tools used in the process of sanding hardwood floors. They are designed to sand the edges of a hardwood floor where a larger floor sander cannot reach. Floor edgers are typically handheld and operate in a circular motion, allowing for precise sanding of tight spaces and corners. Floor edgers are an essential tool in the hardwood floor refinishing process. After the larger areas of the floor have been sanded with a drum sander, the floor edger is used to sand the edges and corners of the room. This ensures that the entire floor is sanded evenly and provides a smooth, uniform surface for finishing. Floor edgers come in a variety of sizes and shapes to accommodate different types of flooring and sanding needs. Some floor edgers are equipped with a dust collection system to minimize the amount of dust produced during the sanding process. This is especially important for those with allergies or respiratory issues. When using a floor edger, it is important to wear appropriate safety gear, such as eye and ear protection, as well as a respirator mask to avoid inhaling dust particles. The operator should also be familiar with the equipment and follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents. In conclusion, floor edgers are specialized power tools used in the process of sanding hardwood floors.
