Floating Island Art Exhibition is an innovative interior space design project that reimagines the traditional concept of art exhibition spaces through a sophisticated floating installation system. This groundbreaking exhibition design, created by Zong-Ying Chen, transforms a 190-square-meter historic site into an immersive cultural experience that celebrates the evolution of design media and spatial aesthetics. The exhibition's centerpiece features a striking 9-meter magazine cover installation, comprising 40 carefully selected double-covers displayed on transparent acrylic plates, suspended from an ingeniously engineered aluminum truss structure. This architectural intervention not only preserves the integrity of the historic building by avoiding direct contact with its surfaces but also creates a dynamic spatial flow that divides the narrow venue into two asymmetrical triangular areas, enhancing visitor engagement and circulation. The exhibition's sophisticated design incorporates multiple experiential zones, including a brand showcase island featuring influential Scandinavian and Italian design pieces, and a dedicated lecture space that transforms into an intimate theater setting. The project demonstrates exceptional technical innovation through its use of concert-grade truss structures to support 80 acrylic panels, ensuring both safety and sustainability through reusable components.
