Flamingo Club Hotel is an architecturally significant hospitality complex located in the southern region of Tenerife, Canary Islands, exemplifying a masterful blend of organic and orthogonal design elements. The project, which garnered the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, encompasses a comprehensive renovation and expansion of an existing hotel property, transforming it into a sophisticated resort that harmoniously integrates with its surrounding landscape. Situated on a 105,500 square foot lot characterized by irregular topography and significant elevation changes, the complex features five distinct buildings totaling over 129,000 square feet, strategically positioned around central leisure areas including gardens and swimming pools. The main building serves as the primary access point, housing essential facilities such as the reception hall, restaurant, commercial spaces, public areas, and guest rooms. The architectural design is distinguished by its innovative approach to facade treatment, where organic shapes on the east and south elevations contrast with a more geometric western facade. A carefully conceived corner extension creates a seamless transition between these different architectural expressions, employing pure horizontal lines and a sophisticated interplay of solid masses and transparent glazing. The project's material palette emphasizes white as a base color, complemented by bamboo, local basalt stone, and glass elements, with strategic color accents that reference the flamingo theme. The renovation successfully restored the property's core identity values of elegance, wellness, and exclusivity, while establishing a cohesive design language for future interventions.
