Find Your Lucky Star Restaurant Pop-up Installation

Find Your Lucky Star Restaurant pop-up installation is an innovative architectural and experiential dining concept that explores the transformation of perception through immersive design. This groundbreaking installation, created by designer Emma Maxwell, presents a unique dining environment where guests are submerged into an otherworldly atmosphere that challenges conventional spatial understanding. The installation features a custom-made minimalist brutalist architectural structure measuring 6500mm x 3500mm x 5000mm, housing an upside-down printed landscape interior that evolves throughout a two-hour dining experience. At its core, the installation incorporates a bespoke 3-meter-long mirrored table and custom 'cloud' lights suspended from above, creating an illusion of inverse reality. The experience is enhanced through a sophisticated technical setup utilizing ten Epson PowerLite Pro projectors, which gradually transform the space into a mesmerizing galaxy star field. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional innovation in sensory dining experiences, combining carefully timed sound design, light stimulation, and a strategic seven-course meal to create a holistic, transformative journey. The installation's research foundation explores the complex relationship between environmental factors and taste perception, acknowledging that flavor experience extends beyond mere gustatory and olfactory inputs to encompass the complete multisensory environment. The project's execution required overcoming significant technical challenges to seamlessly integrate technology while maintaining an organic, believable space that evolves naturally throughout the dining experience.
